This program welcomes new six-year-olds to the Center. On the first day of the program, a child must be six years old. The staff engages kids in structured activities that emphasize cooperation such as games, tennis, nature activities, drama, arts and crafts, and sports.
This program offers children some choice in what they do. Kids can choose among arts & crafts, tennis, sports, nature studies, drama, field games, and other structured activities.
This program provides activities that appeal to the eclectic interests of this age group. While plenty of time is devoted to sports, games, and tennis, the program is intended to be flexible and includes group projects and opportunities to work with younger children. Weekly adventure outings are also offered. The kids are encouraged to help choose and develop activities.
This program emphasizes staff training, skill building, and work on community projects. It is designed to give older kids some experience in working with younger children at the Center, while older staff supervise them. This year, teens will have fun coordinating some fundraising events to support the CCC and a community organization that the teens designate. Keep your eyes open for a variety of special event days and a car wash on a sunny Saturday afternoon.
A Chilmark Community Center membership is required for children to participate in the Playschool or 6-14 morning programs.
