The Martha’s Vineyard Book Festival will be held August 5-7, 2017.
The Martha’s Vineyard Book Festival is a celebration of the rich literary heritage of Martha’s Vineyard and the many authors who find inspiration on this beautiful island. Held every other summer on the first weekend of August, the MV Book Festival shines a spotlight on the island and its creativity. It provides the opportunity for authors and readers to meet, to engage with one another in a relaxed and beautiful setting and to allow each to find new meaning in their work and discover new works. The Book Festival features the newly published work of acclaimed authors in a diversity of genres to appeal to many different interests and ages. In the alternating years when the Book Festival is not held, we feature the MV Author Series.
The 2015 MV Book Festival included Ta-Nehisi Coates, journalist and author of the #1 New York Times Bestseller, Between the World and Me, New York Times best selling author Erik Larson, former Congressman Barney Frank, New York Times columnist Charles Blow, filmmaker Laurie David, sportswriter Bob Ryan, New Yorker writer Patty Marx and New Yorker copy editor Mary Norris, chocolate maker Rick Mast, local novelist Jennifer Tseng, and many more.
