Drama at the CCC

Join us this summer for drama games, improvisation, and so much more. Many kids have been bitten by the drama bug at the CCC. Will you be next?

During the Monday-Friday 9am-12pm Morning Program, kids get to explore acting, improvisation, and scene work with our skilled instructors.

On Wednesdays, Brian Ditchfield, Artistic Director of the Martha's Vineyard Film Festival will be on hand to also teach filmmaking! Every Wednesday, Brian Ditchfield & Brooke Hardman will offer a new program, Dramatic Arts Play & Create.

PLAY: DROP IN 9:30-10:30am to play and experiment with theatre games and hands-on filmmaking.

CREATE: SIGN UP 10:30-11:30am to create a short film or play. You will act and shoot scripted and unscripted pieces. Your work may even be shared at the MV Film Festival’s Cinema Circus! Free members.

HALLIE BREVETTI

Hallie Brevetti is a B.F.A. Musical Theatre graduate from Emerson College, who has been living and working in and out of New York City for 6 years. Acting as Drama Director digs back to her roots, since her parents are educators, and since she was lucky enough to take courses from one of the best Theatre Education programs in the country at Emerson. Hallie is thrilled to be appearing in The Winter’s Tale this summer in the Tisbury Amphitheater — she hopes you come out to see it!

BRooke Hardman

Brooke will be a guest artist at the CCC every Wednesday this summer! Brooke is a professional actress, director, producer and theatre educator based on Martha's Vineyard. She is a Resident Acting Company member of Boston's award winning Actors' Shakespeare Project where she has appeared in 10 seasons of productions and served as Associate Director and Music Director. Notable acting and directing credits include Williamstown Theatre Festival, Steppenwolf, Huntington Theatre Co., New Rep, Writers Theatre, Court Theatre, and MV Playhouse among many others. She is the Co-Founder and Co-Producer of Vineyard Arts Project's New Writers/New Plays Festival, and currently runs the theatre department at MVRHS. 

BRIAN DITCHFIELD

Brian is coming to the CCC every Wednesday this summer to teach film! Brian is the Artistic Director of the MV Film Festival. In his 10+ years with the MVFF, he has helped expand the Festival, Summer Film Series, and Cinema Circus. He has also overseen the addition of educational programs, and a filmmaking department. As a filmmaker, Brian produced and wrote a nationally distributed feature film, and award-winning shorts and documentaries.

ART at the CCC

Kids love the art shack! Every morning our talented staff come up with creative arts activities for campers of all ages. Tie Dye, friendship bracelets, ceramics, and much more bring kids back year after year to the shack.

Dan Cooney, Art Director

Dan is looking forward to introducing new arts and crafts projects, as well as some CCC favorites. Cooney received his BFA in Illustration/Cartooning from The School of Visual Arts in 1998 and is currently finishing his Masters in Education from Fitchburg State University in conjunction with ACE MV. Author of The Comic Book Artist’s Workbook For Perspective, it is his third book published by B.E.S. Publishing. Ben, a California native, now resides on the Vineyard, where he works as a teaching assistant at the West Tisbury School.

Willa Neubauer, Assistant Art Director

Willa is a rising sophomore at Barnard College. She attended the CCC for several summers, along with her brother. Willa taught in the Art Shack during the summer of 2017. She loves art and working with children, and is excited to meet new faces this summer at one of her favorite places on the island!
