Playschool Drop-off 9am and Pick-up 12pm

Parents and Guardians, please use the Chilmark School parking lot for drop off and pick up parking. Parents please escort your child and check them in with Playschool staff.

6-14 Year Old Campers Drop-Off 9am * Pick-up 12pm

To help with limited parking, for morning drop-off for 6-14 year olds, we are implementing a drive-up and drop-off line that will flow in front of the Center. Beginning at 8:50am, staff will be at the drop-off line to help campers out of cars and direct them to their designated locations. After camp, at noon pick-up, to limit parking, staff will be there to help your campers into your cars so you don't need to park.  If you wish to park, please park in the Center lot as briefly as possible. If the library is open, the library parking lot will not be available for noon pick-up parking.

For children in the full day program and leaving at 3pm, parents can readily park to pick-up their children.

Things for Camp

Playschool Kids

Send Playschool kids with a bag or backpack labeled with their name and filled with the following:

  • Snack  (Playschool children do not go to Snack Bar)

  • Water bottle filled with water

  • Change of clothes

  • Sunscreen (please apply in the morning and bring to camp)

  • A sun hat

6-14 Year-Old Campers

Morning campers receive two snack items from the Snack Bar. If your child has strict dietary restrictions or severe allergies, please notify us AND also send your child with a safe snack option. While we will monitor those with allergies, we cannot be responsible for making the best healthy choices for your child. If you have things that you don’t wish your child to eat, please discuss this with your child.

If your camper is attending the afternoon program, please provide them with lunch for the afternoon. The snack bar will be also open in the afternoon, and one snack option will be provided.

Campers (both morning and afternoon) should bring a backpack labeled with their name with the following each day:

  • A (non-spill) water bottle (please fill before camp)

  • Sunscreen (please apply in the morning and bring to camp)

  • A hat or cap to keep the sun out

  • Comfortable shoes

  • A towel or small blanket to sit on (optional)

  • A favorite book (optional)

  • Camp is messy. Don't send campers in their best clothes!

Staying Healthy

Drink water, wear a hat, apply sunscreen...

We want everyone to stay healthy and safe at camp this summer! Please apply sunscreen to your child each morning before they come to camp; send them with a hat and with extra sunscreen to reapply throughout the day. As always on the Vineyard, please be sure to do a tick check each day after camp. The filtered water station has excellent quality, fine tasting pure water. Send your child to camp with a labeled water bottle to fill up at the station throughout the day.

Stuff Happens

The first aid station is inside the Tennis Shack. If a child becomes sick or mildly injured at camp, they will be brought to our Health Supervisor who will administer first aid, if needed. If it is best that the camper be sent home, the Health Supervisor will call the child's emergency contact to have the camper picked up for the day. Whenever a child sees the Health Supervisor, the Health Supervisor will either send home a slip or call the parents/guardians. If the Health Supervisor deems it necessary to administer ibuprofen, benadryl or aspirin to a camper, the Health Supervisor will only do so after calling parents/guardians and obtaining consent.

The Health Supervisor can administer other medications provided by parents on the first day of camp with written consent from parents. If your child uses an inhaler, EpiPen or other medication, please bring it in a labeled zip-lock bag on the first day of camp. If you have added or changed any of the medical information in Sawyer recently, including uploading a letter from your pediatrician or other documents, please send us an email so we can be sure to review those. We require immunization records for all campers. Please consult with your child’s pediatrician to make sure they are current on all vaccinations, including for Meningococcal disease.
